MY STORY

I have now been in the bakery and food industry for over thirty years and I have worked in many sectors of the industry, such as;

Craft bakery - Operations - Commercial - Foodservice - In-Store Bakery - Product Development - Technical - Production - Industrial - Retail - Training – Logistics - Restaurants
 

I started my food career working in a small restaurant before going to the Birmingham College of food and domestic arts where I studied catering and bakery.

During this time I worked for Associated Dairies as Trainee Chef in the restaurant and Pastry Chef / Baker, where I gained my apprenticeship before working on Cruise ships.
I have since worked for
J Sainsbury’s as Bakery Specialist,
Savacenter (Part of the JS Group)– Catering and Bakery Operations Manager
Kerry Foods – Technical Sales Manager (Europe)
Vandemoortele – Technical Head Chef 
Delifrance UK Ltd – Category Manager, National Accounts Manager and Bakery Field Sales manager / Head Bakery Chef
 

For me it is important to maintain the Skills & knowledge that I have gained over the years in the industry, and I have achieved this through continuous networking and building relationships with people from all aspects of our industry. I have also travelled to many countries throughout the world, working in bakeries and restaurants and I continue to still visit as many sites as often as I can and I will never miss or turn down an opportunity to visit and learn something new from bakery or restaurant, even just talking to a fellow chef is an opportunity not to be missed.

The food industry is always moving and everyone is looking for the next great innovation and that’s what’s great about the industry we are in “It doesn’t stand still for anyone” and some of the best ideas are the simplest.
 

I have developed this web site to help likeminded people such as you.

To date I haven’t met anyone yet that has all the answers to my questions! Unless you know someone I don’t? So if you have any information that you would like to share with you fellow bakers & chefs, then please let me know.
